On the limestone plateau and clay-limestone slopes of the Right Bank, Saint-Émilion (and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru) is Merlot-led with Cabernet Franc for lift and spice. Expect plum, black cherry, violet, hints of graphite or truffle; a creamy mid-palate, silky tannins and a fresh, long finish 🌿.
Styles range from charming, fruit-forward to more structured, cellar-worthy cuvées depending on site and élevage. (Whites are labelled Bordeaux Blanc.)
Pairings 🍽️: duck breast, roast lamb, veal, mushroom risotto, truffle dishes, soft cheeses.
