Glen Grant The Major's Reserve Whisky 70cl

Glen Grant is now recognized as 'one of the great malts'. The malting began in 1840, when brothers John and James Grant decided to build a distillery in the Scottish Highlands, more so in the small town of Rothes, where a small river flows into the Spey River. The brothers are then true pioneers. They were the first to obtain a distillation license in the Scottish Highlands region.

When James died, it was James' son, Major James Grant, who took over the business. In 1897, he decided to build a second distillery on the other side of the railway and connect the two distilleries with a pipeline from Glen Grant 2 whiskey to Glen Grant 1. Local legend has it that locals de Rothes have built wooden systems in the pipe to divert the whiskey they intended for their own consumption ...

After the death of Major James Grant (1931), his grandson, Major Douglas MacKessack, made Glen Grant Distillery one of Scotland's most famous distilleries. But the malt is also known on export markets and the first casks are on the way to Italy, which remains to this day still the main importer.

After years of mergers and acquisitions, Glen Grant was acquired by Campari in 2006. The group continues on the road to success - the single malt continues to enjoy world renown - in Speyside, in keeping with the ancestral traditions of Glen Grant family. In April 2013, the distillery opened a new bottling plant, making Glen Grant the only Speyside distillery bottling all of its products on-site. The entire production process, from growing barley to bottling, is now taking place at this historic site.
