🥃 - Lightly peated Jura malt, combining coastal freshness, soft sherry notes, dark chocolate, nuts and candied orange.
🥃 The Isle of Jura faces the island of Islay, yet has just one working distillery: Jura. Traditionally known for producing unpeated or only lightly peated whisky, the distillery breaks its own rules with Superstition. Here, part of the malt is peated, giving a delicate smoky character while keeping the whisky approachable and smooth. Selected from some of the island’s best malts – including older stocks up to 21 years – Jura Superstition is designed as an ideal aperitif whisky.

The bottle carries an ancient Egyptian-style symbol associated with good luck, echoing the “superstition” in its name and adding a touch of mystery to the presentation.

In the glass, the colour is golden yellow. On the nose, freshness leads, with gentle peat, malted barley and raisins, giving an impression of fruit cake, then evolving towards spice, especially black pepper.

On the palate, the texture is fairly rich and oily. Sherry influence and peat come together with flavours of dark chocolate, menthol, hazelnut and dried fruits. The light smoke is well integrated, balanced by sweetness and soft oak.

The finish returns to barley sweetness, with notes of candied orange and a touch of salt that recalls Jura’s maritime setting. A versatile island single malt, excellent as an aperitif, alongside tapas, charcuterie or firm cheeses, and a great introduction to subtly peated whiskies.
