🥃 Glengoyne Distillery belongs to Ian MacLeod and is located at Dumgoyne, in the Scottish Highlands just north of Glasgow, while its casks reach full maturity in the Lowlands. Glengoyne – the “valley of the wild geese” – is one of the few distilleries that does not dry its barley over peat smoke, but with warm air, resulting in a non-peated whisky that is complex and subtle, with a very clean malt profile.

In the glass, the colour is natural, a rich golden hue.

On the nose, a touch of warm caramelised popcorn appears first, followed quickly by gentle lemon and sweet citrus notes, backed by elegant malt.

On the palate, a light oil film coats the mouth, carrying flavours of soft citrus, nuts and cinnamon, layered over sweet malt and a hint of sherry fruit. The texture is smooth and satisfying without heaviness.

The finish is dry with a trace of oak, leaving a memory of citrus, nuts and gentle spice. Glengoyne 15 Year Old is an excellent choice for those who want complexity without peat smoke, ideal neat or with a splash of water, as an aperitif or an after-dinner dram.
