🥃 Glen Grant The Major’s Reserve is a 70cl Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky at 40% vol., crafted by the historic Glen Grant distillery. Founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant in Rothes, near the River Spey, Glen Grant has long been recognised as one of the great malts of Scotland. It was among the first distilleries in the Highlands to obtain a legal distilling licence and quickly built a reputation for elegant, approachable, fruity whiskies.

After the founders, James’s son Major James Grant expanded the distillery in 1897 by building a second site linked by a pipeline – local legend says some Rothes residents cleverly tapped into it for their own private drams. Later, his grandson Major Douglas MacKessack helped turn Glen Grant into a worldwide name, particularly in Italy, which remains a key market to this day.

The Major’s Reserve is designed as an easy-drinking gateway into the Glen Grant style: a young, fresh and light single malt, matured in bourbon casks 🛢️, unpeated, rich yet smooth and fruity with a gentle spicy edge. The pale gold colour leads to a supple, slightly dry nose with delicate apple notes. On the palate, it is creamy and fruity, with soft malt sweetness and a clean, crisp profile. The finish is slightly dry, with subtle nutty aromas.
