🥃 Carsebridge 48 Year Old Special Release is an exceptional Single Grain Scotch Whisky, 70cl at 43.2% ABV. Distilled in Scotland and bottled in 2018, it is among the oldest Carsebridge bottlings ever released. From a now silent distillery, this whisky offers a unique opportunity to taste a rare piece of Scotch grain whisky history.

The whisky has been fully matured in American oak refill casks

🛢️, which lend a gentle structure and subtle oak character. In the glass, the colour is light gold. On the nose, soft cereal notes mingle with oak, dry hay, vanilla and light caramel, with hints of dried fruits. The palate is sweet and fine, with cream, delicate sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and a touch of honey wrapped in a smooth, rounded texture. The finish is long, mellow and sweet, with lingering oak, gentle spice and grain.

Only 1000 bottles were filled, a number chosen as a nod to Carsebridge’s past: when the distillery was still in operation, barley was brought in by boat, then carried from the quay to the distillery by draft horses, each able to haul 1000 kg at a time. This 48-year-old Carsebridge is therefore both a remarkable drinking experience and a liquid tribute to a bygone era.
