Champagne Duval Leroy Blanc Demis-sec (75cl)

Created in 1859 by the union of the Duval and Leroy families in Vertus, the brand celebrated its 150th birthday in 2009. At its head, since the death of her husband in 1991, is Carol Duval-Leroy, a woman of Champagne among the more active and more innovative.

The vines cover 200 hectares with a large share of Grands Crus from the Côte des Blancs and therefore Chardonnay, but the house is stamped NM on its labels, for Negotiant-Manipulant, which means they buy grapes in addition to the one they produce, for an annual volume equivalent to 600 hectares and 5 million bottles.
At Duval-Leroy, one of the last big independent and family houses in Champagne, thirty or so people work every day to make the best wines possible, a figure that goes up to 500 during the grape harvest.
In this team, include another woman, Sandrine Logette-Jardin, cellar master, with whom Carol Duval-Leroy gave birth to several cuvées, including the already famous wine of Champagne, retained by Bernard Burtschy.
