La Belle Epoque
La Belle Epoque is Perrier-Jouët's prestigious vintage cuvée, which symbolizes the brand's excellence. Designed to express a vintage, there are nevertheless certain constants in this bottle. First of all, the excellence of terroirs classified at 99.2% on the cru scale. Then, there is the slight dominance of Chardonnay, half of this cuvée, which gives it freshness and finesse, with 46% Pinot Noir for its richness and fruit, and then 4% Pinot Meunier.
Finally, there is the intuition, know-how and creativity of Hervé Deschamps, the brand's cellar master. Let's not forget the bottle bearing the anemones of Emile Gallé, master glassmaker and apostle of Art Nouveau. The result of all these elements, after 6 years in the cellar, is a harmonious and elegant champagne that pays tribute to this great vintage, perhaps the best of the decade. The bubbles are fine and precise, the nose is elegant, fruity and floral, and the palate beautifully juggles power and acidity. A delight!
