The chenin which mainly composes this wine (the Chardonnay can also bring its suppleness) has its roots in a chalky subsoil. Saumur Brut is intimately linked to this tufa: the cellars that house it result from the quarries from which this stone was extracted to build the residences and castles of the Loire Valley.
Tasting
Slightly golden, its bubble is fine and persistent. The floral typicality of Chenin is found on the nose. The mouth, lively and fresh, persists in finesse.
Food and wine pairings
It is an excellent aperitif which awakens all parties but also knows, slightly less chilled, to accompany a whole meal.
