Neighboring Montrose, Château Meyney enjoys a first-rate terroir on the edge of the Gironde: siliceous gravel on a vein of blue clay that gives the wine its exceptional dimension. The 51 hectares of vines are composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Petit-Verdot, a singular proportion in Saint-Estèphe, which brings the wine righteousness and freshness.
The first vineyards of Meyney were planted in 1662 by the Feuillants Fathers. Since 2004, the estate belongs to Crédit Agricole Grands Crus. Under the technical direction of Anne Le Naour, Meyney is experiencing a tremendous renewal.
He creates powerful and racy wines with dense and firm tannins, offering an intense and sweet fruit that evolves towards spices, leather and musk with age. Their potential of guard is considerable.
