Since 1999, l'Evangile has belonged to the Domaines de Barons Rothschild group, also owner of Ch. Lafite Rothschild. The terroir of Ch. l'Evangile is of very high quality and is located between Ch. Pierre and Ch. Cheval Blanc. The restructuring since the takeover, both of the vineyard and of the winemaking system, has brought the vintage to the highest quality. For me it is located at the top of the many great Pomerols, qualitatively next to Ch. l'Eglise Clinet, Ch. Clinet, Ch. Fleur de Gay, Vieux Ch. Certan, Ch. La Conseillante, Ch. Hosanna and Ch. Trotanoy . Very small yields of 25 hl/ha and very refined vinification per plot (20 vats from 4,000 hl to 80,000 hl) make it possible to produce a magnificent and deep wine here.
