🥃 Connemara Single Malt is a 70cl Irish whiskey at 40% vol., produced by the Cooley distillery. Long before coal became widely available, peat was the main fuel used in Ireland, both for drying grain and in whisky production. Connemara keeps this centuries-old tradition alive, drawing inspiration from the distilleries of the rugged Connemara region on Ireland’s west coast.

Today, Cooley is the only Irish distillery producing a Peated Single Malt, giving Connemara its distinctive smoky and peaty character. This is the distillery’s flagship whiskey and has won gold medals at every international competition it has entered, firmly establishing its reputation as one of Ireland’s great single malts.

On the nose, Connemara reveals gentle peat smoke, heather, honey, malted barley and a hint of citrus. The palate is smooth yet characterful, with sweet malt, vanilla, light caramel and soft orchard fruits wrapped in a pleasant layer of smoke. The finish is long, warming and slightly spicy, with lingering peat and a subtle coastal note. It’s a perfect choice for peat lovers looking for something different from the usual Scottish Islay style.
