La Demoiselle de Sociando Mallet – Haut-Médoc 2017 - (75cl)
La Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet is none other than the second wine of Château Sociando-Mallet. It is made from 2 types of plots: the youngest plots of the estate as well as those located on the most clayey soils.
You will find 2 grape varieties in equal quantities, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the two lords of the Médoc, with vines that were 20 years old on average in 2010. The terroir, even if the clay is more present, is still dominated by which characterize the region so well.
After manual harvesting, the vinification takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats before a double aging as for the first wine: a quarter in new barrels for 11 months, the rest in stainless steel before 7 months of homogenization in vats.
This Demoiselle seduces with its straightness, its fruit, its roundness. A Haut-Médoc more accessible and to drink younger, within 10 years, than its elder.
