Chambolle-Musigny -2008 - Domaine Lignier-Michelot 1er Cru - Cuvée Jules

Bourgogne red (75cl)

Region: Burgundy
Subregion: Côte de Nuits
Owner: Virgile Lignier

DOMAIN WINES:

Virgile Lignier works hard to hoist his domain among the Burgundian elite. His efforts allow him to obtain pure and straightforward wines, sometimes on the verge of austerity but always with great respect for the fruit. Not very fleshy, its wines prefer finesse to the volume of mouth, sometimes lacking a thick or even mature, but the digestibility, infused and delicate is very convincing. The success of the 2015 is brilliant, with exciting balances. If the domain continues in this direction, it will get closer to the second star.

The wines: the superb red Burgundy, radiant and full of vitality, already brings a lot of pleasure. Infused and sober material, fair, a lot of elegance in the delicate chambolle-musigny, very tasty and fond. The Cuvée Jules is fresh and fragrant, very fond, marked by raspberry: we are admiring this style infused, delicate, which respects all the flavors of the fruit. The morey Vieilles Vignes is all nerve and vivacity, and the morey In the Rue de Vergy combines freshness, aromatic finesse and delicacy of texture. Several magnificent first-growth moreys: chiseled tannins, precise, purity of expression and lengthen in Charmes; firmer, Chez Leseaux is all sap, tasty and juicy, innervated with mineral splinters; with a very fine marker of mature plant, Les Chenevery has a tight but sharp frame, sharpened and quickly salivating with ventilation; great finesse and complexity in Les Faconnières, which evokes a very ripe burlat cherry and whose final is incisive. Ripe, almost opulent in the pulpy character of the fruit, the charmes-chambertin is marked by a slight over-maturity. But the material remains light, nuanced and healthy. Evanescent scents of wild rose and fresh berries in the Clos Saint-Denis: tasty, infused and rich, it is a wine of spirit.
