Glengoyne 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 70cl

Glengoyne Distillery is part of Ian MacLeod's distillery near Glengoyne. She also produces the Six Isles and the Smokehead. The distilleries are based in Dumgoyne, in the Scottish Highlands north of Glasgow, but their barrels mature in the Lowlands. Glengoyne ("Wild Goose Valley") is one of the few distilleries not to dry barley with peat smoke, but hot air. The result is a complex, subtle whiskey with a pure malt flavor, complemented by a touch of sherry and apple.

Tasting notes:

Dress: Natural, rich gold.

Nose: Coconut oil, honey, lemon zest, dried oak.

Palate: Caramel apples, cinnamon, ginger, orange, shortbread cookies.

Finale: A touch of sherry and sweet oak. Very well balanced.
