Goldys Belgian Double Still Whiskey
The Goldlys is distilled and aged in Bachte-Maria-Leerne, a small village in Flanders. The Lys, the river flowing near the distillery, has not only inspired the famous artists of the School of Sint-Martens-Latem, it has also brought wealth to this region. The flax that is soaked in the river, to rust, gives the water golden reflections. Hence the nickname "Golden River" for the Lily and the name of "Goldlys" for the whiskey.
Tasting notes:
Dress: Light gold
Body: Light, but flexible.
Nose: Cereal, touch of vanilla, cream, grass.
Palate: Spicy, sweet fruit (pear), cream, hazelnut.
Finale: Pretty persistent, butter, dark chocolate, later licorice.
Comment: The taste is amazing, especially for such a young whiskey. Ask for a few drops of water. A nice aperitif.
